Three times, the deserts of the Javelina Jundred forced me to face my demons: endometriosis, adenomyosis, and the thought of never finishing the race.

This fall, I'm coming back for a 100-mile redemption run.

I'll see you in the desert.

My reckoning in Javalina was a turning point. I'd worked for 16 years, empowering others as a psychotherapist, and it was time I took my own medicine. I followed the signals of my body and that ultimately led to the discovery of stage IV endometriosis and adenomyosis. I pivoted from training for ultramarathons to prepping for surgeries.

And now, I'm back to training for ultras—and the chance to prove that chronic illness does not get the final word.

Documentary Film: Coming 2027
